The first week of March was full - I auditioned for an Indie Television Pilot called UNSEEN and booked it. It is a juicy supporting role where I play a mother whose son has passed away - or has he? The production team are delightful and we shoot in the beginning of April. UNSEEN will screen at the WRITERS GUILD in May. Excited!

I was also cast in THE BOOK CLUB, written, directed, and produced by CHRISTINE LOZANO. Christine is a very talented actress/writer that has created a wildly funny short film about a group of old girls who still have some fire in their furnace! The cast includes JULIA SILVERMAN (AMERICAN PASTORAL), JACKIE LYN COLTON (GREMLINS 2) and IVY JONES (BASKETS). We shoot the beginning of April.

Producers LINDA RAND & JILL JONES presented several performances of IN THE SHADOW OF NONE, a collection of monologues performed by females actors from THEATRE WEST and written by writer members (including a couple of men). ITSON is a celebration of women that was originally created for INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY. We proudly performed at THEATRE WEST on Sunday, March 5th and the audience loved it.

Our second performance was at THE SAN FERNANDO VALLEY ARTS & CULTURAL CENTER and yesterday, March 22nd, our third performance was for the residents of the MOTION PICTURE HOME in Woodland Hills. For that show, we were joined by the wonderful actress and timeless beauty LEE MERIWETHER, who had us all choking back tears with her powerful, heartfelt monologue. In attendance was BRIDGET HANLEY, star of HERE COMES THE BRIDES (and a list-as-long-as-your-arm of television shows from the 60's through the 90's), and the irrepressible CONNIE SAWYER, who at 104(!) is STILL acting. That's right, she's still acting! Such an inspiration!

I continue to happily direct AMY JAN SIMON in scenes from her fantastic one-woman show, SHE'S HISTORY. Amy has been performing her play for seven years now, but wanted some fresh eyes on it. We work so well together and we're both finding it so gratifying discovering new things. We just need to find more time in our busy schedules to work on more scenes from the play!
