Happy Memory of Mr. Sondheim
Many years ago, Paramount Pictures had their business offices in NYC. I was a floating temp during those years and my frequent assignment was working for the VP of Production - the inimitable JEFFREY KATZENBERG.
One day, STEPHEN SONDHEIM called to speak to Jeff. After giving his full name, Mr. Sondheim started to explain who he was. I stopped him and said, "Sir, I know who you are," and we shared a laugh. He was very flattered that someone so young knew of him. I have always loved that memory.
